Gerda: Tell us about you…<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Pauline Vauthier<\/strong>: I am a reserved and discreet woman but certainly not shy.\u00a0I consider myself passionate about wine and a pawn in Ausone’s history.<\/span><\/p>\n

Edouard Vauthier\u00a0<\/strong>: I am a vagabond who likes to travel. I lived and worked for two and a half years in the Philippines with wine distributors. Then, moved to Shangai for two years. These are great experiences that are extremely useful today in my daily life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gerda:\u00a0What are the main challenges you personally face, in the practice of your work?<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Pauline and Edouard Vauthier<\/strong>: It is a vast question because there are so many challenges we face every day that make our job so particular and interesting. There are, of course, technical challenges such as the vines, the wine cellar… Each year is different and we have to adapt to the climate which is increasingly unpredictable and extreme.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Harvest 2021<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gerda:\u00a0How did your harvest go?<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Pauline and Edouard Vauthier<\/strong>: 2021 has been a tough year for us. We have been in organic conversion for 2 years.\u00a0There are hard times during this conversion. My father has rarely seen such a rainy and cool summer. In addition, Chateau Fonbel<\/strong> and Chateau Simard<\/strong>\u00a0were affected by the spring frost.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2017, we have not produced Fonbel and Simard because of the frost.\u00a0<\/span>We will give more information about the 2021 harvest later.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pauline et Edouard Vauthier <\/strong>: <\/span>We have in total 85-hectare of vines spread over several Ch\u00e2teaux:<\/p>\n
